Mr. X
Critic reviews and ratings
-
Bhatt churns out a quasi-gratifying film, which has all the necessary commercial ingredients - from romance to good music to thunderous action sequences.
-
Besides the fact that the film's director Vikram Bhatt attempts his hand in the 'invisible man' genre, there is absolutely nothing about the film that's worth its salt.
-
The story is very predictable, but there aren't really those moments when you feel why the film doesn't end. Two for the film, and a half extra for Hashmi. Watch it for Emraan Hashmi...baaki ki chinta chhodo.
-
What Vikram Bhatt has done is that he’s set up a premise for a superhero movie franchise. Now, he needs to hire a better writer and work on the script like crazy before taking it forward in the next installment.
-
At the end, I was a little surprised and a little disappointed. Given the dilemma and the conclusion thereof, the concept deserved better screenplay and writing.
-
...another 3D disaster for Vikram Bhatt
-
Bhatt tries to incorporate the superhero angle, but his linear narrative springs no surprises and as soon as he makes his hero go invisible, his entire plot is clearly visible and the heavy inspiration from Hollywood flicks.
-
It has its moments but Mr. X lacks the drive to scale new heights.
-
At a time when even television is doling out superheroes worth binging on, taking Bhatt’s boring, fluky, one-trick Mr X seriously is out of question.
-
...it's high time that Vikram Bhatt stopped making films, and more importantly, that Emraan Hashmi stopped acting in them out of a sense of debt.
-
That the film is in 3D doesn’t mean that it adds any more dimension to it. It is as much a yawn fest as it would’ve been in 2D.
-
Unalloyed gobbledygook: two words are all that one needs to sum up Mr X.
-
...has tacky special effects and a non-existent plot.
-
Bhatt movies have that same signature tune and similar story-lines (non-existent). Mr. X is no different. He too is non-existent.
-
Even though in concept the film might have sounded interesting, in execution it is an epic fail. Plus, the idea of leaving logic and reason behind in any Vikram Bhatt movie is expected, but in Mr X the pressure to do the same is immense.
-
If there was any doubt about Vikram Bhatt being the single most uninspiring filmmaker in the Hindi film industry, a single viewing of Mr X is enough to convince anyone to carve this sentiment in stone.
-
...the central flaw with the film is Mr. X himself who never piques our interest and is as hollow inside as he is on the outside.
-
...a complete waste of time.
-
Sadly I wanted to disappear from the theatre within the first half hour.
-
...a singularly humorless film that's sorely lacking in thrills, a coherent plot, and even basic common sense.
-
Nothing redeems it. Not even Emraan Hashmi...
-
...an irredeemably bad film...
-
...a stupid, slow, randomly ballad-filled mess that could still have been made entertaining with an interesting protagonist.
