  • Joker

...is a bit of this and a bit of that. We buy the story of Paglapur because the whole premise is so mental, so random. But when Joker turns around and does exactly what it has been mocking all this while, it stinks.

...can’t be described as an admirable work. It is certainly not meant for the squeamish or the 'Chennai Express' constituency. Yet, neither is it dismissable as an average, formula thriller. It has it engaging moments.

  • Jawaani Jaaneman

It’s great to see Hindi cinema giving its audience what they have been asking for — some real characters who are all out to have fun. And yes, that includes leading a debauched adult life too!

  • Jalebi

With a catch-line like 'everlasting taste of love', it had promised a delicious recipe of romance but the film is a half-baked dish that is completely devoid of any taste.

  • Inkaar

...may be thematically topical and significant since it deals with the exploitation of women at the workplace, but it’s the director’s tamest work yet.

If you are not a hyper-nationalist or an ardent fan of pressure groups, if you cannot tolerate apartheid in the name of politics, regardless of which party you support, this Madhur Bhandarkar scrapbook straight from the 1970s is for you.

  • Hunterrr

The obsession with “likes” in these times of Facebook is killing all the fun. And Hunterrr is its latest victim. It’s all too keen that we like it, rather than we simply enjoy it. How sad.

  • Hum Hai Raahi CAR Ke

There is no reason for 'Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke' to exist except that producer-director Jyotin Goel’s son, Dev Goel, is now of kissable age and has acquired muscles - feats that daddy dear thinks deserve a public audience.

  • Housefull 3

...bawdy jokes, unfunny gags, dull, humourless one-liners — all getting passed off for comedy, that too as they struggle to include jokes on racism and the differently-abled.
