  • Highway

With all its pros and cons, here’s one of those films: ponderous enough to encourage a snooze but also with its rewarding side-effects. Needless to emphasise, Veera lingers on in the memory. And Alia Bhatt’s performance is nothing short of extraordinary, especially her solo stanzas of dialogue, executed in long takes.

  • Hero

He has co-written the film’s screenplay and that’s where the film’s first major problem sits. The second is his direction.

  • Hawaizaada

True or not, it was a good subject that the director had his hands on. But sadly, 'Hawaizaada' limps a bit too much to even come close to convincingly recreate the life of a man who dreamt to be the first one to fly.

  • Hawaa Hawaai

When the story is predictable, a tight script and screenplay needs to take charge. Sadly, it doesn’t. The film’s undoing is the expectations it rides on. This one fails to be an Amole Gupte film.

  • Hate Story IV

is one of those films, which leaves you wondering what it was. The film is a stale cocktail of lust, betrayal, revenge and vengeance. Interestingly, no actor seems to be even trying to act. Hate Story IV  has a poor plot with a flawed execution.

  • Haraamkhor

He stands out by showing the issue of sexual relationships with minors in the most beautiful and romantic manner. Shlok remains successful without overcomplicating the story.

  • Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi

...has a funny first half but pales and drags in the second. Sure the comedy is over the top and silly but if that is your cup of tea then a moderate entertainment for couple of hours is guaranteed.

  • Happy Ending

Self-deprecating humour, charming as it may be, is a rarity in Hindi films and ‘Happy Ending’ is one such film. It takes a jibe at the ‘formula’ that most box office hits follow, even while it panders to it – albeit smartly.

...is powerful, questioning, emotional, disturbing and one of its kind. The satisfying performance of both Rasika Dugal and Talha Arshad Reshi is worth noticing.

  • Gulaab Gang

Visually the film is seductive – pink saris in sepia dehaat — but its message is scary. While I had severe problems with its glorification of vigilante justice, there were a few moments when I was both thrilled and moved.

  • Gul Makai

...enough to happily fill half an hour of footage on any television channel. In its 129-minute film version, it fails to effectively stretch it out to feature-length, and devolves into over-the-top drama and a suffocating heavy-handedness.
