  • Super 30

Were it not based on real-life, Super 30’s story would have been scoffed upon and the movie soon forgotten. Even with the “based on a true story” stamp and despite some decent insights, performances, and dialogue, it borderlines on simplistic and forgettable.

...is one movie repeated twice – once before the interval and once after. Both are equally predictable and melodramatic.

  • Student Of The Year 2

Wouldn’t saying, “SOTY 2 is predictable,” predictable in itself? Let’s just say, you get what you expect. Even if there might just have been some potential for change in dynamics between characters, ultimately they are only sly story-telling tactics.

The sharp dialogues support a fragmented plot. The smart visuals are accompanied by jarring background music. The story is neither about carrom nor about the communal riots. The movie is neither here nor there.

  • Stree

The comedy and social take work, even while the horror and romance are just about ok as a side. Put together though the genre mix gives the film a unique flavour making the smartly written script quite enjoyable.

...is an unfair joke on the audience. If it were not for some witty dialogue delivered with great timing, Special Chabbis would've been a very frustrating experience.

...starts unsurely, mildly irritates while casually displaying a wasted life amidst drugs, alcohol and sex and then grips you into a story that makes you want good things to happen to a person you didn't like much or worse, were indifferent to.

  • Sonchiriya

The story, the performances keep you engaged, yet the film drags making it predictable because there’s just too much time to think.

...tries to be cool and the effort shows. The labour that such an effort requires shows through every department of the film and not in a good way.

  • Singham

Comical action, filmy dialogue, awful flow make Singham's decent concept look laughable. It tries to make a couple of points but they are lost in the "coolness" that the film wants to be.

...has a perfectly flawed lead character, played almost to perfection by Kangna Ranaut, the film has a close-to-perfect climax too. If only, the plot didn't accelerate to being outland-ish mid-way.

  • Simmba

When a Rohit Shetty film moves away from exploding cars to make way for forcefully imploding emotions–it is a step in the right direction. Only a teeny-tiny one though because the ‘women empowerment’ bit is still a huge charade.

  • Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan

In its attempt to keep things light, the film becomes loud and meanders. In its attempt to make a point, it breaks into spurts of short speeches. In the one aspect, it wants to create awareness about, it doesn’t go beyond a couple of wisecracks.
