Phullu
Critic reviews and ratings
-
...is recommended for its intention and effort, but not so much for its cinematic nuances.
-
...is watchable for its exceptional subject.
-
A film should be judged on the basis of two things i.e. Content and Intent and Phullu is definitely high on intent but falters in presenting its content.
-
If marks were given for good intentions and sincerity, Phullu would top the university. But if marks were also given for presentation and execution, Phullu would be somewhere at the lower levels.
-
...it’s all bloated with basic information and will give you cramps.
-
...unwisely presumes that promoting a humanitarian angle absolves it of mediocrity. For all its do-gooder fixation, Phullu neither has the passion to succeed as a film nor the seriousness of a valuable message.
-
...seems like a half-made film, one that started off right but was abandoned midway and left to fend for itself.
-
...at times, may appear to be a social service campaign, considering its subject, but an effort has been made which needs to be lauded. It may be a small start, but a beginning has been made to change the mindset about menstruation.
-
Well intended, 'Phullu's self-piety towards women rings hollow.
-
The narrative is rambling and tedious, so the already tough social service message becomes tedious and boring even.
