Critic reviews and ratings

  • Barring the earnest performances of the lead actors and the supporting cast, there’s absolutely nothing wild or memorable about Dil Juunglee.

  • It’s old wine in a new bottle, but watch it for Taapsee and Saqib’s refreshing chemistry.

    Critic rating (?)

  • The film has a lot to offer if you’re willing to overlook it’s juvenile glitches...

    Critic rating (?)

  • A sincerely superficial film. Makes no attempt at making character motivations believable. A case of “believe it or leave it”. “Leave it”, it is then.

  • ...is an age-old story, told with a hundred stereotypes, none of which helps it. It is only Taapsee’s charming presence and Saqib’s earthiness that keep us entertained.

    39

    Critic rating (?)

  • ...the huge potential of two talented actors was completely wasted because the filmmakers decided to stick to the same old formulaic and cheesy way of making a typical Bollywood ‘love’ story.

    39

    Critic rating (?)

  • Taapsee Pannu extends dignity to average writing and conveys her character’s evolution well. Saqib Saleem consistently manages the accent of an average Delhi munda but barely digs any deeper...

    Critic rating (?)

  • ...fails to connect with its target audience, thanks to its predictable storyline and way too many clichés.

    29

    Critic rating (?)

  • Everything about Dil Juunglee is a bit on the wild side, completely arbitrary and illogical.

    29

    Critic rating (?)

  • ...does not work even as a joke. It is more pain than fun.

    Critic rating (?)

  • ...may reward his conceit for jumping into the water, but that won't wash his sins away or make suffering fools a love story.

    19

    Critic rating (?)

  • ...same-old and silly.

    Critic rating (?)

  • At every turn, Dil Juunglee (written by Tonoya Sen Sharma and Shiv Singh) teases you that now it will change into some other film, but it is relentless in its mission to disappoint.

    Critic rating (?)

  • The first thing that came to my mind after watching Aleya Sen Sharma’s Dil Juunglee was to question the source of funding for a film that clearly had no clue which way to head, because there’s nothing worse than spending an early morning with a heartbreakingly bad movie.

    19

    Critic rating (?)

  • ...one part of your brain is already dead. And no amount of cute posing for selfies by the lead pair is going to convince you that you made a good decision in buying a ticket to this ridiculous film. If you are not asleep in the theatre, you are facepalming.

    09

    Critic rating (?)

  • ...is not a film; it’s a bunch of the most vapid characters conceivable, hanging loose, doing some monkey tricks and playing “Audience audience in the hall, who is the most irritating of us all”.
