Babloo Happy Hai
Critic reviews and ratings
-
...fresh, breezy, naughty, nifty. It gives out a strong message without being weighed down by the social statement.
-
...for the sincere performances and the topical subject of the film, one could sample this without expecting too much.
-
It's fairly entertaining but loses focus and wanders around aimlessly, just like its protagonists' road trip.
-
...could have been much simpler and better film, one capable of touching your heart. Instead it ends up as a classic example of a director gone wrong in his attempt to bridge the gap between social and commercial themes.
-
If you rummage through the creative mess, you will find a gem or two. But for that, you really have to sit through Babloo Happy Hai which is part juvenile, part intense.
-
...though bold and rather brave to base a film on AIDS and relationships, with excellent cinematography, the makers could have done with a better screenplay, with more details on dialogues and better comic gags.
-
The director has made strong message films before ( ‘I Am Kalam’) with much more clarity and success. This one tries to do the same but fails : the plot is weak and the acting amateurish.
-
The utter randomness of the title- considering the crux revolves around a bunch of randy youngsters being educated about HIV in the holy hills of Manali- is the least of its problems.
-
The truth of the matter is that Babloo may be happy, but the audience won't be.
