UnIndian
Critic reviews and ratings
-
...as a film, has its own share of pitfalls to negotiate. It occasionally resorts to contrived means to get around its loose ends. Yet, in the ultimate analysis, the film never trips irretrievably.
-
A simple film with flashes of charm and humour, UNIndian serves mainly as a showcase for Brett Lee trying his hand on a new pitch (I couldn’t resist slipping in one cliché).
-
Although he clear finds pace bowling much easier than dancing, Lee delivers his one-liners with flair.
-
...is a frothy film, worth a watch to encourage Brett Lee.
-
It’s a harmless, reasonably enjoyable outing if you’re not expecting too much from it!
-
The film isn’t void of typical Bollywood clichés either but the endearing romance between Lee and Chatterjee makes UnIndian a decent watch.
-
Apart from clashes of culture UnIndian doesn’t have much going on. If you think of it, after spending over 90 minutes, all you’d remember of the film is a clichéd cross-over film.
-
This film may be called UnIndian but its treatment, writing and technique is unmistakably Indian and a little too obsessed with being masala.
-
...this tepid film takes a turn for the intense and gradually becomes much to bear.
-
...has stray moments of warmth and humour, but it’s just not enough. I am interested to see what Mr. Lee does next, though.
-
You'll love this film if you have never heard NRI tales, never had relatives who live abroad complain about 'Indians', never visited a foreign country, stayed with relatives who behave at once Indian and at once 'foreign'.
-
Brett Lee is quite the 'sport' in his (almost) Bollywood debut, however, let-down by this uninspired cross-over romantic comedy.
