Khap
Critic reviews and ratings
-
...should be commended for attempting a socially-relevant theme with some amount of detachment and equanimity.
-
...an honest effort that deserves to be encouraged. Of course, it may not be the most persuasive film that portrays an issue, but at least it makes a sincere effort to be there.
-
...a bit of subtlety and a more artistic vision would have gone a long way in creating a strong social document on screen.
-
Is this a film that will create awareness about khap panchayats? No, sadly it isn't.
-
A baffling tale!
-
That a burning social issue has been sought to be addressed is a good thing, but not this way.
-
...a film that looks like the mangled matrimony of Moulin Rouge and Peepli Live. Both dreadful versions of. To think that this is what was intended from the very start: mass entertainer meets issue-based film is ludicrous.
-
...is an artistic as well as a box-office disaster.
-
...a juvenile attempt at a half-baked plot handled very amateurishly. Easily avoidable.
-
While "good intentions" might be the culprit for the existence of this ineffective piece of social drama, it's the shallow writing, horribly amateur acting and horrendous production values that truly drag the film to abysmal depths.
-
What hurts it is its tackiness, resembling an amateurish TV serial.
