Zokkomon
Critic reviews and ratings
-
In an industry which throws up such an abysmal record when it comes to producing viable children's films, any attempt that can slightly hold your interest is more than welcome. And that is where Zokkomon scores.
-
...here's a film that's sweet, funny, innocent and most importantly, talks to the kids eye-to-eye.
-
Harry Potter meets Krissh meets not-so-Home-Alone, unfortunately in a very superficial, blah sort-of a way. And yet, there is enough for the under-10s to enjoy indoors on a hot summer day.
-
...this one's adventurous and fun in parts, not in toto. However, it's much, much better than the kiddie films the Hindi film industry has churned out in the recent past.
-
With limited special effects and unnecessary running time, this Disney production is way below the mark when compared to slick and smart Hollywood films on offer for the young audience.
-
...isn't super and far from being close to it. It doesn't offer much to appeal the young audience, for whom it's primarily made.
-
The film has its sporadic moments, but none too memorable to recall.
-
...doesn't make full use of its potential.
-
This one's a shaky, false start at best...
-
This one falls short of expectations, mainly because of the poor special-effects and the failure of the plot to take off.
-
...fails to impress as a film. Not only does it have a weak plot, it defies logic.
-
...a lackluster script and an overdose of cliched situations turn this film into one more 'preachy affair'.
-
The film is derivative, relentlessly foolish and staggeringly boring.
-
Like most children's films made in India, this one too is confused and disheartening.
-
Here's some advice: respect your audience and spend some serious money producing a good script.
-
Boring, contrived, confused, tiring fare.
