...appeals for the characters that Luv Ranjan has created as well as the buoyancy and gusto with which the principal actors bring alive the characters on screen.
-
Very entertaining and romantic, this is a gutsy gem of a movie.
-
This is a relevant film for parents and youngsters. It deals with a very complex situation, does not give you any answers and towards the end, sends you home allowing you to form your own views.
-
The topic may sound archaic and something that has been addressed in Hindi films a billon times before, but director Luv Ranjan moulds the story in a contemporary setting, making it relevant
-
...a valiant effort. If only, it had avoided the trappings of a few clichés.
-
The film could have done with a more crisp narrative. At a near two-and-half hour runtime, you wish the tale was cut short by at least an hour. What works for the film, though, is the cast.
-
Premise-wise, is a rather black and white situation the film sets itself within. As much as it delves into love’s confusions it makes the enemy a decidedly criminal situation, giving the film a clichéd outcome.
-
...may be a flawed film but it still has its heart in the right place. If you can get past the sugary coma and see the relavant topic it deals with, this film is for you.
-
...there’s not a dull moment to spare in this film but one can guess what is going to happen next. And that’s never a good sign!
-
...where you’d expect writer and director Luv Ranjan to turn the genre on its head and push the envelope further, he lands an ordinary film that is perhaps a little too conventional.
-
The ending is straight out of a TV serial, though Bharucha salvages enough from it to mark her as someone worth keeping an eye on.
-
...a promising but ultimately inconsistent film that starts out at one place, but ends up at quite another.
-
Except for a few moments, and some competent, if synthetic, cinematography by Sudhir K. Chaudhary, a story with immediacy is lost in flinching execution.
