Bang Bang!
Critic reviews and ratings
-
...if you are looking high-octane action scenes, sleek visuals, melodious music and if you love masala movies, then BANG BANG should definitely be your pick for this extended weekend.
-
...makes more noise and little sense.
-
Expectations met. Action-packed, lots of Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, passable stunt and close to no story.
-
If you've seen Knight and Day (Bang Bang! is an official remake), better steer clear. Otherwise, the film might be tolerable, even entertaining in parts.
-
How many times have you ordered a dish that looks terrific photographed in a menu, but disappoints when it shows up on the table? Bang Bang is that kind of meal.
-
...is one of the breezier Hindi-language action packages of recent times, but that really isn't saying much. The bar, albeit sparkly, still remains at the same desensitized height.
-
This is a remake of Hollywood film, 'Knight and Day', and for some reason, we choose to make a dumber version of the not-so-great-to-begin-with original film.
-
...is strictly for Hrithik Roshan fans and for those that do not want an action flick to be anything more than just that.
-
...an amalgam of exotic locations, power-packed action and good looking actors, nothing more...
-
Instead of being smart and slick, it is wrongfully Indianized by sentimental bullshit.
-
Right from the moment go, the film gets predictable. And oh-so-filmy...
-
Not that Bang Bang! isn’t well-made. Its technical craft is top notch. The cinematography, the action choreography and even production values are all Hollywood level. But the direction is near abysmal.
-
This is a stupid, stupid film trying to be slick, a B-grade film made on an A-list budget.
-
There's no thrill in Bang Bang...
-
Knight and Day was mediocre at best. The remake comes with that legacy and even experienced writers like Sujoy Ghosh, Suresh Nair and Abbas Tyrewala are unable to add bang to this bland concoction.
-
There can be only two thought processes as far as the director Siddharth Anand is concerned. Either he believes that huge promotional drive will sell his half-baked product or the audience is actually full of people who believe Knight And Day is a good film.
-
Hrithik is the film’s eye candy and the prime shooter, all rolled into one, and gives you some amount of bang. The rest is burble.
-
...the film needed better location photography. It needed better writing. It needed better songs. And it needed a better director, someone with attitude and style.
-
...it is all sound and style with a shallow core and makes no bones about it.
-
Obviously strange to buy the remake rights of a mediocre Hollywood film. More bizarre to fashion an even worse Hindi film out of it.
-
...such intelligent madness that it will make you cringe in your seat.
