Desi Boyz
Critic reviews and ratings
-
A story to accompany the zany stuff saves it from being a mindless comedy.
-
...despite all flaws provides for wholesome desi entertainment.
-
...a fun ride.
-
...may definitely not be a masterpiece in comedy but it is entertaining and deserves a watch.
-
The mix is good and it's sure to create a buzz if not a furor at the Box-office.
-
The movie is judgement-free, but it's also very pat. Buried underneath the piles of clothes discarded by Rocco and Hunter is a full-on sex comedy that's dying to come out.
-
...has an entertaining first half and decent performances as its plusses, but a tedious and least compelling second hour stands out like a sore thumb.
-
...may be I'm giving it more thought than it deserves, because frankly the film did make me laugh out loud about twice. If your expectations are that low, you may not be entirely disappointed with Desi Boyz.
-
...is exactly what you'd expect. Awful acting by good-looking people who look really good. A 'whatever' story with a few good hearty laughs.
-
Go in with modest expectations and perhaps you won't come out dissatisfied.
-
It's reasonably paced; doesn't assume the audience to have the IQ of a goat;despite objectifying women, is not entirely regressive; does justice to it production value and has even got a scene or two that will make you laugh outloud.
-
Disaster.
-
You figure this formula for the moolah could be a post-2000 film by David Dhawan. It turns out his son's the director. Generations change. So do audiences. Same garbage gets recycled still.
-
...stale, tasteless fare...
-
If Rohit Dhawan who has inherited his father David Dhawan's style and, unfortunately, also his cinematic vacuity wanted to take up a mature subject like this, then why did he have to dumb it down so much?
-
Avoid at all costs.
