Don 2
Critic reviews and ratings
-
...a classic action/crime thriller that doesn't let go, even for a moment. More importantly, the plot has been finely crafted, with every twist and turn falling into place like a complicated albeit neat little jigsaw.
-
...rides on star power and brand value. The film has a bland first hour, but the second half takes the film to another level. There's no denying that a cohesive script would've made a world of a difference to the film...
-
Watch Don 2 for some kick-ass action. And Shah Rukh Khan.
-
Smart lines and slick camerawork turns into tiring witticism and regular big-budget technicalities because it is over-written and over-stylized.
-
...a very impressively produced film but is let down by over-the-top acting...
-
Despite having a glossy, slick exterior, the film falters in its storyline making for a boring watch.
-
The King is yet to return.
-
...needed an energized, crackling plot. What it has, in almost too much abundance, is SRK dripping dimpled coolth. But cool can only take you so far.
-
The script apart from being predictable also has loopholes galore. The characters are sketchey.
-
Above average.
-
Over all, with the trade buzz of the film being low, unattractive promos and songs that failed to get the mass glued, Don 2 might find it hard to get a record making opening or even match up to Ra.One collections!
-
Whether the plot, acting, thrills or music - this sequel is not a patch on Don.
-
Shah Rukh Khan handles all the acting pyrotechnics. He's bankable in a film that isn't.
-
...beyond that mountain of expectations lies a film that just about salvages its cause. It's barely there. In fact, had it not been for SRK and a slick climax, the film would've been a major embarrassment.
-
...is nicely shot, and there are moments where Shah Rukh Khan is riveting. But that's not enough to hold your interest for well over two hours...even the actor's most loyal fans will find themselves yawning.
-
So much for a franchise.
-
...instantaneously forgettable.
-
For all the sketchily etched sub-plots, and the contorted trails of the fabric of the story, it’s threadbare enough to be entirely banal.
-
...has no story, dialogues which are 'college class' and no direction...
-
The depressingly underwhelming (and numbingly long) Don 2 is less about Farhan Akhtar's commitment to plot and character than hairstyling and haberdashery.
-
From Farhan Akhtar one expects more. And don’t even get started on the awkward plotting and the lapses in logic...nobody watches a thriller with those expectations.
