...politics need not be a drab colourless vocation. It can be a bastion for the young. And it can be a great deal of fun!
 -

It's a light hearted film that's not to be taken too seriously and that's the only way one can enjoy this.

Afzal's 'Youngistaan' at the core is an interesting idea, far-fetched, but refreshing. The love-story develops tenderly, but the political backdrop and ensuing drama is not crafted with clarity. The story suffers from uninspiring dialogues, with a stretched climax.
 -

...has an interesting premise, a mature act by Jackky Bhagnani and importantly, the message it conveys is just right. The writing could've been sharper, but having said that, this movie is worthy of a watch.
 -

...thanks to a good script, well-paced screenplay and author-backed performances from appropriately cast actors, Youngistaan makes itself a watchable fare.
 -

Watch it for the endearing Jackky Bhagnani and the inimitable Farouque Sheikh.
 -

...this one just about passes muster.
 -

Not bad at all given the almost implausible premise and the lead.
 -

While the film has a very interesting premise, it is totally diluted by lazy scriptwriting and sketchy direction.
 -

I hope young India's vision is not as shallow, superficial or short-sighted.
 -

There was potential here, but it's wasted.
 -

The film, despite its efforts, becomes muddled, and dull.
 -

...a skewered immature tale that caters to the lowest common denominator of hope.
 -

The problem is that Youngistaan has no teeth.
 -

The film lacks the punch and power essential for it to be consistently engaging.
 -

The film seems topical and could have cut across audiences given the current election scenario but lacks the gravitas of a political drama, which particularly associates itself with the highest seat of power.
 -

Despite all this going for it, Youngistaan still ends up feeling flat and dull for three reasons: inconsistent writing, inconsistent direction and a weak lead actor.
 -

...makes claims like Modi, implements policies like Rahul and has a persistent cough like Kejriwal, and I certainly wouldn’t vote for it.
 -

...sets a new standard of ridiculous.
