Double Dhamaal
Critic reviews and ratings
-
...a seriously hilarious movie that lives up to its title -- it's double dhamaal all the way. If you are not looking for wisdom and rationale in a light-hearted entertainer, I am sure you will savor this carnival of claptrap.
-
...a complete entertainer for the masses...
-
This one's definitely not for the fastidious, choosy viewer but for those who don't mind losing it for a bit, Double Dhamaal works like an average Bollywood comedy.
-
The humour in this film is anything but cerebral, but some of the stunts are genuinely funny.
-
Illogical, at times crass, double meaning dialogues, and of course, the stupidity of it all, this film has all the recipes for a disaster. But it's the mad humour that's the saving grace.
-
...is equal parts funny and offensive.
-
With a negligible funny quotient and a feeble script, Double Dhamaal ends up being a 'double' disappointment.
-
...is double trouble. Not half as good as Dhamaal.
-
...a huge disappointment.
-
Everyone hams it to the hilt. There is no room for subtlety and nuances.
-
Indra Kumar's recipe for dhamaal is quite simple - sexual innuendo, potshots at popular films, bad mimicry, foreign locations, a generous dose of overacting, an item song and a gora villain.
-
You have to admire the film for one thing though : it sticks unswervingly to its promise of delivering loudness and crassness.
-
Aside from a few laughs post-intermission, this film is a crashing bore.
-
Indra Kumar and his team of actors try really hard to get the comic juices flowing, but so many poor gags can't make a comedy.
-
...these gents -- Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Javed Jaffery (and Ashish. Of course) -- have had to do the kind of things for a living, endure a sort of public embarrassment for entertainment’s sake, they should be entitled to a gallantry award. No less. So should their audience.
-
It's a pity that Indra Kumar is still allowed to make movies. He belongs to the 90s and frankly that is where he ought to have stayed.
-
There is no semblance of logic and every situation is conveniently set up to maximise the grating 'comedy'.
