Ek Tha Tiger
Critic reviews and ratings
-
A Salman Khan film does not need a review!
-
...a high-octane thriller that works big time.
-
ETT is no Dabangg, Ready or Bodyguard. It's more evolved, less chalu( read entertaining.) Salman'isms' are rationed.
-
...has enough zing, visual and otherwise, to keep you in your seats for its runtime of a little over two hours.
-
...this is the kind of film that doesn’t get into the high or low-brow argument. It’s a simple story, told with conviction and with enough star-value and action to keep everyone happy.
-
...an action-packed adventure with an endearing Salman and a roaring Kat.
-
...despite its predictability and flaws is a decently made film...
-
Director Kabir Khan ensures he exploits Salman’s screen presence, while also adding substance to all that jazz around. The twists in the tale are enough to keep you from snoozing due to an overdose of action.
-
Director and co-writer Kabir Khan takes the larger-than-life Salman Khan persona and wraps it in an engaging story that services it.
-
Paisa vasool and smarter than the average masala movie.
-
Salman is much more in packaged-by-Yashraj-Bond mode, bashing ‘em up, and lovin’ her for ever, essentially Bhai doing his stuff, but restricted from being all over the place, which is not such a bad thing.
-
It could have been snappier, and the girl could have been much better, but the film should be applauded for giving us a non-sleepwalking Salman, and enough genuine bang for our buck.
-
...a clever mix. The polished specs define Kabir but they have been smartly used to carve an essential Salman Khan blockbuster.
-
...surprisingly director Kabir Khan has come up with a new recipe for the current Tiger of the box office. Kabir wants to put his stamp without stamping on Salman’s toes.
-
Salman Khan films come with a certain type of expectations, a set that for once, the viewer isn’t really responsible for having. In the race to grab maximum whistles, the Salman Khan brigade has sought and cultivated it carefully. And then comes a film that’s off-the-Salman-radar. Almost.
-
While Ek Tha Tiger doesn't stoop to the level of Ready or Bodyguard, this film is definitely not Dabang or Wanted material either.
-
At best, its a satisfying watch. Just dont go in with high expectations.
-
Khan on the other hand holds back too much. Is he underplaying? Is he not acting at all? Hard to tell. If you're expecting an amusing, captivating, cool Chulbul Pandey-like performance, forget it.
-
Like the title Ek Tha Tiger deserves to be spoken of in the past tense. In two words, eminently forgettable.
-
...is neither here nor there. It’s neither this nor that. It’s not an all-out action film, nor is it a heart-wrenching romance.
-
...ends up being a regular love story with a national angle and will in all likelihood be underwhelming for the fans.
-
One confused film, but With Salman about, nothing seems to matter. So the Bhai tornado rolleth on.
-
Believe it or not, Salman Khan underplays his role in this hugely entertaining film.
-
Without any heft or intrigue for a spy film, and with too much of dull romance, Ek Tha Tiger is damp squib.
-
The film seems to be made for the young-at-heart – there’s no heat in the romance, no sex, and there’s no bloodlust in the action.
