Fukrey
Critic reviews and ratings
-
...is a thinking man's, creative high. It takes a lot to back a project like this.
-
...the laughs are many to keep you entertained.
-
...a twisted and delectably uproarious take on the shortcuts the youth of today indulge in.
-
...the new-age relatable bromance and humour that has you in splits all the time makes it for a great watch.
-
...scores highly on the story line and the way the screenplay has been written.
-
Smart lines and a talented ensemble will have you in splits.
-
...garnished with some truly original laugh-out-loud moments
-
...is full-on entertainment although it stops shy of being an outstanding comedy.
-
...the small film experiment about life's trivialities manages to entertain for most part.
-
...packs a solid punch.
-
...the problem with Fukrey is that the characters and milieu are more engaging than the plot, which gets more far-fetched as it thickens.
-
...if you’re in the binness of not analysing your entertainment too much, Fukrey’s the way to go!
-
...may not be laugh-out-loud funny as Delhi Belly, but the charming subtleties, detail to character and credibility of milieu makes it one hell of a ride.
-
Quirky and fun in the second half, it is a pain to go through in the first half though.
-
...works in parts and some of them are really funny, but overall it feels like an exercise in wanting to be a little bit of everything.
-
...reminds you that Bollywood these days is trying to entertain beyond tested flavours. The effort may have stumbled in execution. At least, like the four fukreys, the makers did try hard.
-
A tighter script and more screen time for the excellent Pankaj Tripathi, as enterprising campus security guard Pandeyji, might have helped turn this moderately entertaining film into a rollicking good caper.
-
The punches come in generous doses but fail to make an impact in most places.
-
...had potential as a quirky comic caper. It ends up as a boring watch.
-
Lucklessly, none of the four overgrown boys of 'Fukrey' out here arouse your empathy or curiosity. In fact, they’re as irritating as monsoon mosquitoes.
-
What’s missing is the sense that something is at stake. Rather, we see what’s at stake, we know it, but we don’t feel it as the film progresses.
-
This one just doesn't measure up. A word to all the young filmmakers out there - perhaps it's time to leave Delhi and friendship alone and move to newer pastures.
-
...how many times can we see fumbling fellows with cops hot on their heels running down the narrow alleyways of Old Delhi?
