Blood Money
Critic reviews and ratings
-
Debutant director, Vishal S Mahadkar, tells the story well, though some scenes are very stretched, and tries too hard to provoke a reaction. A faster pace, more potent dialogues, not to add some more dum in Kunals voice, and a better background score - would have had greater impact.
-
There are a few flaws, but I'd rather not dwell on those because the overall impact is massive.
-
A strong middle hour sandwiched between twenty minutes of silliness at the beginning and an absurd last half hour, make Blood Money hanging between engaging and ridiculous.
-
...is old wine with a brand new label.
-
It’s one of those films which sucks when you see the end coming, and entertains when you don’t.
-
This film has all the elements of the Bhatt success formula, but in the wrong proportion.
-
The lead pair salvages the film to an extent, but a limited scope of the script binds them both from making it an entertaining trip.
-
...has a story which starts off interesting but becomes familiar as it unspools, underwired with the usual flash.
-
...finds some traction in the climax but it's too little, too late.
-
...bleeds boredom.
-
...may just turn out to be a waste of your money, sensibilities and time.
-
A product that has borrowed from so many films, it doesn’t even try forming its own place.
-
...a bore-a-thon of a movie, complete with archaic dialogues and stereotypes for characters.
-
This film could have been something I guess, but the production house does not seem to have cared enough to push the team to try.
-
...is generic mash up of Mahesh Bhatt’s productions, cannibalizing from his own films.
-
Only if you have time to kill on hand and want to escape the seething heat outside, step into the AC environ for this sparkless fare.
-
...is much too sluggish, simplistic and boring to bother.
-
...indigestible...
-
It's all too messy. And too trite.
-
...is predictable in its screenplay and poor in its execution.
-
...an indifferently made film, and it shows.
-
A sincere Kunal Khemu aside, this is a cheesy, predictable, over-the-top adult-rated modern-day adaptation of Hansel and Gretel.
-
There is a unique amateurish-ness the entire film is drenched in. From awkward romantic moments to extremely hammy acting. From unflattering wardrobes (of everyone) to worse camera angles. From bookish, uncomfortable dialogues to the forced emotions.
-
Feels like a rerun of Vishesh Films’ Jannat. Much too insipid. Cliches abound.
